Now that it is spring there are a lot of great events to go to!

I just thought I'd share some of the fun goings on around Charlotte in May, feel free to let me know about other fun events I may have missed.  These days it is all about the fun...

 

May 2- 8th- the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow Country club starts at 8am

May 5- Alive After Five- At the Epicenter every Thursday until September 16th starting at 5pm.

May 5- Cinco De Mayo Block Party at loco Lime, starts at 5pm

May 6- First Friday Jazz at the Bechler Museum6pm -8pm, free with admission or membership, BilleHoliday and Lester Young Music by jazz greats Bille Holiday and Lester Young featuring Toni Tupponce on vocals.

May 6/7- The South Carolina Strawberry Festival- Downtown Fort Mill- 6pm-11pm, 11am-9pm admission is free.

May 7- 4pm- 8pm Derby Days presented by Young Affiliates of the Mint.  Enjoy a day of lawn games, complementary food, wine and beer and a large screen viewing of the KY Derby!  $48 for non members.

May 7Hats and Hooves starts at 5:30 at Mercedes Benz of Charlotte in Pineville.  Enjoy mint juleps, cocktails, horderves and of course the race.  Tickets are $50 and proceeds benefit the Jack and Jill of America Foundation

May 7/8- Mother's Day at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, Mothers get in free and can enjoy a family picnic, mini massages, the gardens and the first 250 moms in will get a free potted plant.  Make your reservations now 704-829-1252

May 13- Charlotte Small Business Week Starts, lots of great events and free seminars too!

May 14- NC Brewers and Music Festival 11am- 8 pm at Rural Hill Farm, blue grass, blues and brews.  tickets are $40

May 14- Jason Aldeanat the Verizion Wireless Amphetheater

May 22- Steve Martin with the Steep Canyon Rangers at the Ovens Auditorium

May 29- Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at the Charlotte Motor Speedway
